Hello, who should i purchase my gauges from? I want them to be back lit and look as close as posible to the dashboard gauges that are stock on a 2002 f250. Please help. I know wich ones to buy, just whom should i purchase them from and why you like them ppwill be MOST appriciated. Thanks
I purchased the ISSPRO setup from Dieselmanor. I had them paint the pod to match my interior and they really compliment the dash nicely. The gauges have red needles and the kit came with the green bulb covers. The kit also had almost everything you need for an install with the exception of some 18 gauge wire to hook the tranny temp module up to a power source and some screws to fasten the tranny & pyro modules to the firewall. I called Dieselmanor's tech support line one time with 3 questions about my installation. I got through fast to a person who had the answers I needed and he was very friendly. I've searched the net far and wide and have yet to find a great set of instructions for my truck, so I'm creating some. I'm writing everything down in order from start to finish and taking pictures. I'm posting them on my website, smokyvalley.com. Some of it's posted already. I'd definitely buy the same package from Dieselmanor again.
I also got the Isspro guages, they don't necassarily exaclty match the dash, but they are black with white numbers, so all you would need are some green bulb covers. Mine did'nt come with any, but I like the white backlight anyway. Installation was a snap. DarrellM5 is correct, the instructions were good as far as wiring is concerned, but the rest was a joke!! Not to hard to figure out though.... Good luck.!!
I have installed the Autometer and ISSPRO on two separate PSD's.
I prefer the Autometer simply because the ISSPRO requires power modules for the tranny and pyro. These "power modules" are not needed by any other gauge manufacturer.
The plastic connector clips are a pain in the "A" pillar. You have to bore a friggin hole big enough to drive a volkswagen through just so you can pull the gauge out a bit without it catching on the original pillar.
Find a gauge manufacturer that matches your stock gauges other then ISSPRO. They are inexpensive but also archaic by today's standards.
