Abendx, did you notice any power increase? How about your detroit locker. How much did that cost you. I am seriously thinking about swapping the stock LS for the detroit.
Thanks for the advice,
Tuna
Yea ! get us a sound clip if ya can!
What flowmaster did you use ?
There is a truck running around here with a set of side exhaust!
It looks like 2 diesel stacks(chrome)running length wise under
the chrome nerf bar steps with the exhaust exiting just infront of the rear wheels. This is on a 4x4 superduty,i haven't seen it again!

Well, hate to tell you this, but if you aren't happy now, you porbably never will be. Flowmasters never "break in" due to the fact that they have no packing. They use metal baffles to control the sound waves and they will retain the same sound till the day they die.
Also as a side note, Flowmasters have been proven to have one of the worst flow ratings of any aftermarket muffler out there. Borla, Dynomax Ultra Flows, Edlelbrocks and Hookers all outflow Flowmasters, and in some cases by nearly 4 to 1. THe Flowmaster you put on your truck more than likley has more restriction than your stock muffler.
When I bought my car, it had 2.5 inch exhaust on it with Flowmasters on it. By simply switching th Dynomax Ultra flows of the same diameter, I picked up nearly 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile.
well.... the tinniness did calm a tad after i installed the fipk this evening. power is up slightly. sound clip will come one of these days soon.
that fipk is pretty damn cool.... with the hood open you can really hear it suck!!! i may have no need for starbucks if i could figure out how to use that thing for other things. lol.
one thing i did get from the truck at idle with the new setup is a little rapping here and there..... now that sounds nice!!! if i could figure a way to get more of that i would.
as far as flowmaster vs others..... i like the flowmaster sound... always have... the v10 makes things different mind you.
as for sound changing with a flowmaster.... it does... i have run 4 or 5 of these in the past and they always may a slight tune change over the first month or two.... in my previous v8's the sound gets a tad deeper and mellower over time... as well as louder.
