ok i have a code reader and i have no idea how to use it :LOL
i did koeo and all i got was 1-1 1-1 and i think that is ok am i right
ok then koer i got 2-1 4-1 7-7 and i dont know what this means
it is a 1987 ford ranger 2.9 5 spd
when i am driving it just starts to sputter then put clustch in and rev it right up and it will go away for a couple minutes and come back
sometimes you have to stop engine and restart and it stops sputtering
when you rev it you see a good cloud of black come out of tailpipe

You got continuous codes 21, 41 and 77. The 21 is probably due to the engine not being at temperature, the 77 is because you missed the "goose" (floor it) test and the 41 is either a bad O2 or bad wiring to it. See pulling eec-iv codes in the tech info post for more details.
Also check the vacuum line for the fuel pressure regulator for gas, gas = bad FPR.
