I was looking for info on casting # of the 429 / 460 cyl heads. i have looked over a lot of threads but can't find the info i was looking for. i am sure this was ask before. if some one can help thanks in advance!!! i was told that late 60's c8ve, c9ve and 1970 dove heads were best to use on a 460 block. my question is after c8ve # there is a '' a '' or mine have a '' e ''. does this have anything to do with anything that will hurt, or impruve anything??? compression rato, or flow??? , or anything??????? i have always herd about ""a"" never ''e''. THANKS AGAIN!!
After that C8VE the -?? denotes intended chassis, it means nothing for you unless your going for a numbers matching restoration, same for the blocks. I have seen a break down before on the 385 forum on network54, but I dont care to dig thru the search and find it again. Your welcome to go there and try to get the codes, just do a search on google for 385 forum and it will be your 1st listing on google.
