Smile ordering soon need advice

I will be ordering my new '04 f150 STX scab 4x4 tomorrow and want to see if I'm getting a good deal. I've learned ALOT from reading this forum. I've taken alot of this info with me into the dealership and it kept me from being run over. As of now they are offering me $500 below invoice, with the 2.9% APR @ 72 mo. I also want my truck undercoated and was wondering what would be a fair amount to have to pay for it. I'm going to see if they will throw it in for free, but not sure they will. Any advice on what to watch out for when going in would be most helpfull.
Thanks for all the advise thru this forum. I've learned more here in a month than any dealership would tell you in a year.

You should get several OPINIONS on these topics. If you're not eligible for a "special" price plan (A,...X) then $500 below is "probably" a great deal. If you are, then your dealer may be holding back. I bought mine on 2-14-04 and got it for $1,450 below invoice with the X-plan and rebates PLUS 1.9% APR for 60 months (same finance special you've been offered).

As for the undercoat, it's a debatable item whether to do it or not. I did it for $200. It's different (smoother) than past undercoat jobs that I've had. They did a poor job in application so it goes back this morning to be re-applied. Is it worth it? Did I pay to much? Maybe, maybe not...

Where are you in Iowa? I'm in Keokuk.

I don't get the a or x plan. When you got $1450 off invoice, was that the invoice the dealer had or was it the same as Edmunds.com?
I live in Jesup and work in Cedar Rapids. I'm dealing on my truck in Center Point (Junge's). If your dealer is giving better deals, I might drive down.

My under invoice was from the dealer invoice (not the MSRP). It's very close to Edmunds pricing. I'd say that you're getting a good deal. My dealer is actually in IL. Keokuk is the SE tip. We cross the Mississippi into IL or the Des Moines into Missouri.

Try to get your undercoating for 1/2 price. These guys have about $25-40 of material and about the same in labor to do it. Tell them that some dealers (mine) are giving 2 years of FREE schduled maintenance (it's on the TV ads in the Des Moines area). I believe it's a regional thing and may not apply to orders (just dealer stock), but it's worth a shot to drop some more bucks.

I have an XLT, but also like the STX. Best of luck!
