8.8 spring lock
i really need some help here, can someone explaine to me how to put the spring lock back into my 8.8 possy trac rearend i have fought with it for 4 hours now and i am ****ed. i have already broke one, and had to go to the dealership to get anouther.

Did you get it yet?
I hold the spring up to where it belongs with Vise-Grips and then give it a good fast whack with a hammer. Usually it pops in pretty easy.
I assume you have the axles out? They need to be out to install the spring.

Usually it fits between the spider gears quite easily. Any chance you're trying to put it in the wrong way? The flat ends of the spring go towards the side gears, not the spider gears.
The shop manual says to use a soft faced hammer and just hit the spring to install it.
