automatic to manual hub
I am trying to swap hubs to manual and am having trouble with the new hub not sliding in far enough to get the snapring in. 1994
Ford f-250 . The dealer is not much help .

I bet your Ford is similar to my old Jeep. You have to pull out on the shaft a little bit and the snap ring should go on. Mine has a little more than 1/16th of play in the shaft. There is hopefully a threaded hole in the end of the shaft to help you. I've threaded in a bolt and sometimes just pulled on the end with a set of needle nose pliers. Hopefully this is your problem.
