Thanks for the welcome! I have a 1990 F-250 HD, 460, 5 speed,
extended cab, long box, 4X4, and have had it since it was new.
I never have been a fan of automatic transmissions, they don't seem to hold up, long term, with big engines!
I had to go with the 4.30's with the V-10, the 4.10 that I have now,
isn't available! Is there a noticable difference in the two? Gas mileage has never been an issue, just performance.
Will be looking for feedback on the best spray in bedliner, and best fiberglass cap! My local Line X dealer wants $120.00 extra
for any color, other than black! Is that normal? Sounds kinda FISHY to me! :-X23 Thanks!
You'll like the 4.30 gears. They only carry a one or two mpg penalty. I have the 3.73s and wish for the 4.30s.
As for a bedliner, most of the linings are high-quality... the installer makes ALL the difference! It is very common for them to charge extra for colors other than black. You might shop around and see if there is a better price though.
Can't be of any help with the cap since I don't have one.
2001 250 sc 5.4,4.10,4x4 new to log on. I consistently get 13.5 around town no matter what. On highway on trips 70 or under I get15.5 to 16. hope that helps
Poolman!
If you are going to order, decide what options you want, then ask the dealer for a PRICED DORA! They can provide the PRICED DORA, in a couple of days, showing all the items that you are supposed to have on your truck, and the price of every item!
Ask them for your build date. They will get that in a couple of weeks from order date. Then comes the hardest part! waiting!
When they get back to you, , you will be jumping with joy!
Good luck, and keep America green, spend money!
i just ordered mine as well and have about the same delivery date...was there any talk about the rebates still being in effect?
My fleet guy says all current rebates ($1000) on f-series will expire on march 5th......hoping they extend again...any thoughts?
ps.....great forum, nice that it hasnt been all messed up like some others...well cept for all those psd guys of course
Awww, your just another gasser to us BigDeezil58. Although, we are a little worried about that rattle & all that smoke coming out of your truck. When you going to get that "fixed"?
I had both of my SD's Rhino lined, and I wouldn't have anything else.Cost about $425 for a long bed(in Sac.)Color is extra, and from what I've seen ,it's not worth it. The color won't last, it will start fading if left exposed.I've seen a red truck that had a red spray-in liner that had faded to pink...not a pretty sight. javascript:smilie('')
