'92 Aerostar Modulator Replacement
How do I get to the transmission modulator in order to replace it? I've crawled under and noticed the heatshield and generally "tight" quarters. Do I have to take the transmission off or (I hope not!)? Is there a screw that retains the modulator in position? Do I simply pop it out with a screwdriver?

Okay...I figured it out. Little bolt holds heat shield must be taken off to get to second bolt. No problem...BUT,
I've replaced the modulator and the aerostar still stays in 1st gear when the vehicle is first started (cold). Does the same thing as before I replaced the modulator. Once the thing warms up...the transmission works fine.
What else besides the modulator? (I know the transmission is good)
