high idle
i have a 1990 f250 5.8 litre fuel injected v8 lately when i start it
the rpms start at about 1500 and climb to as high as 2100 it seems to be worse in the cold but driveing it doesnt seem to help
normal idle is about 800rpm any ideas

I would check the throttle position sensor and clean the idle air control first off, then if both of those are ok, then I would look for vacuum leaks. I would also pull the codes as one of the first things too, to see if the computer has recognized any problems.
