4X4 Power distrobution

I put the new F250 in 4X4 Hi for the first time this weekend and now I have a question. How is the power distrobuted between the front and rear? In the snow it seems as if the rear would spin and the fronts were not. The more gas I gave it the more it felt like the fronts were working. But a low rpm's the back would spin as if it was in 2 wheel. 2004 F250 5.4, LSD, camper package, FX4

This is my first Ford 4 wheel drive not to metion my first Ford. It's the only full size that look and works like a truck.

have someone stand on the passenger side I bet you will find that tire is spinning like crazy, my 2000 F250 do that too, or if you have the manuel /automatic hubs make sure they are both locking in when you put it in 4x4 (basically go manually lock them and see if it does the same thing) I did have to have mine replaced under warrenty, mostly they work pretty good but if you have a bad one it won't work at all.

In snow, turn the steering wheel, gas it, and it should send a rooster of snow pass one of the side mirrors from the front axle if the 4x4 is working.

the power disribution 50/50.....more like 100/100 actually, if you get my point. then the differential will send a a percent of that to each wheel. ie 100/100 50/150 0/200. it will always be some ratio of 100% input going to each wheel, therefore you can see where the 0/200 ratio comes from. if one wheel is turning a certain percent of the input the other has to be turning the remaing percent of that ratio.
