86 f-250 reverse light problem
Ok well i have had this problem of my reverse lights not working for quite along time now, but now with 2.5% tint on the back window it makes it kinda hard to see what im doing at night, so i finally decided to ask about it. obviously the lights dont come on when i put the truck in reverse, but im not sure wether its the wire, or a problem with the transmission. for some reason the collum shift (c6 auto) has every gear shifted on to the left...(right next to part is reverse, between reverse and neutral is neutral, between neutral and drive its drive...ect) Im not sure if that's the problem or not(id sure love to know how to fix that too), but it could be a reason. id really love to get them working cause i plan to put some new tail lenses on there.

Your back-up lamp switch should be on the side of the tranny behind the shifter shaft arm. There should be 4 wires going to this plastic switch. Two of them will be the same color(red/lightblue) and are the neutral safety switch. The other two should be purple/orange and black/pink. These are the back-up lamp section of the switch, and you should have continuity between these two wires when the shift lever is in reverse
