Hey out there,
When I set my park brake, I hear (and feel) something in the seat back crunch..... I feels like the lumbar support mechanism... the truck is about 9 mo. old with 15000 miles. It didn't do this before the last couple of thous. miles. I rarely use the support so it is generally backed all the way off...Hand cranked (not sure if it is power on power seats)....
Anyway, have any of ya'll had this happen? I usually don't worry about this little stuff but I am thinking of making a trip to the dealer to fix all the little things ( might as well use that warranty - I paid for it-LOL).
Just trying to find out if this has been a common thing for later model trucks - 60/40 split/cloth/ non- power seats.... 2001, All-green, 4x4, 250, super cab, v-10, auto.
I agree- you paid for a warranty, so use it. Make a list and give one copy to the service advisor. Leave a copy in the seat of the truck and keep a copy for yourself. After the repairs are made, confirm they actually fixed them before leaving.
The exact same thing happen to me on my '99 F250. I had the dealership replace the lumbar support. Within a few weeks it happened again, I pressed the parking brake and felt it give way again. I guess the quality of the lumbar support isn't all that great.
