anyone have Carr hoop foot Steps on their trucks? how low would you say they hang? which model do you have, the super hoop or the original hoop. do you like them better then the factory running board? i dont want anything thats gonna hang low.
hello, well 6-7 years ago i worked at a truck acc center. and i installed a few carr hoop steps. i didn't like the way they installed. it seamed kinda weak. the factory bars are much better and stronger.
I had the carr hoops on my last truck. They hung down aprox 5" had the truck for 7 years 245,000 miles no problem. I have the factory boards on my 03 F-250. But if I had to replace them, at the price of the carr hoops I possibly would go back to them.
We installed the Carr Hoops on 10 2003 F-350 CC, LB, 6.0 trucks at work last September. They seem to work fine for getting into the truck, but are ackward to use when getting out of the truck. Also, snow and ice build up on them easily and really make them more difficult to use. Like RR11 said, they hang down about 5". They were mounted with the bottom of the rung just about flush with the body, maybe 1/2"-1" out from the body at the most. They might work better if they stuck out further, but may look funny
Personally I like full length running boards better. My '02 has stainless LouVern boards and my '04 KR has painted to match, lighted stockers. J&J Enterprises have some sharp looking boards that I would use on my next truck.
I had them on my last truck, 94 crewcab and they were great. Had them on for several years with no problems whatsoever. After a while they turn dull though.
I just recieved 2 sets for my cc truck. Seems like there is alot of extra hardware. Did any of you have this situation as well? There are some pieces that have no place to use them. Simple project but still confused. Any help??
yeah... i had a lot of extra stuff too... i think the hardware kit s a universal one.... so don't worry and follow the directions... took me about 20 minutes a step.
