I have had my fair share of problems with F-250 Superduty and am very discouraged. Now the 4x4 is not working for the second time. Of course now just a few months past warranty it's not working again. This is a truck used for recreation only and has never been abused. So much for Fords'slogan " Built Ford Tough ".It's a 5.4L with only 73,000 km/ 45,000 mi.I will be taking it to the dealer next week and certainly hoping somehow Ford will look after the repair. Has anybody else had similar problems. Any suggestions how I should approach the dealer.
Sorry to hear about your problems.I have worked in Ford/LM dealerships most of my professional years (until about 5 years ago)If you go in there with a open mind and don't go off on somebody you will have a better shot at getting your problem taken care of.If you go in an raise alot of hell you might not get the same service.People that work on these vehicles sympathize with most of your problems. They really do want your truck fixed,it makes there job easier and leads to rewards for taking care of you.Nobody wants to deal with an a-hole.Just my .02 worth.Good luck,Poolman
If it's automatic then probably the servo motor on the transfer
case is out. That is the only thing I don't like about it. If it is
it might be worth converting it to shift on the floor for locking in
4 low and 4 high. I haven't had any trouble with mine as yet. Your
the first one I have heard of that has had this kind of trouble.
I currently have the F250 4X4 longbed ext cab V10, 430 ls, towing package, hvy duty suspension, power drivers seat, am fm cassette with cd, K&N filter charger in the intake and soon to add the Helix power tower.
