It went off with out a hitch!
When we woke up, we exchanged gifts. She gave me a beautiful watch, a box of chocolates, and a card. All I gave her was perfume. I played it off all day like I had to make it up to her because I didn't give her much. I took her shopping and bought her clothes. We went to a movie and then the big dinner.
I played it off all day. I tried very hard to make it seem like any other day besides the fact that it was Valentine's day and I hadn't done enough for her. We got to dinner and had a great conversation. I toasted our first glass of wine with, "Here is to our second Valentine's day together, may it be an unforgettable night." After dinner she ordered strawberry cheesecake for desert.
When it came out, the rim of the plate read, "Will you marry me? Happy Valentine's day." she said, " Oh, how pretty!" and then realized what it said. She was shocked and her jaw dropped. I stood up and got the ring out of my jacket pocket, got on my knee and waited for her to realize what was going on. After she looked at me, I said, "Babe, it's been two years, I see how excited you are and the tears in your eyes. It brings tears to my eyes because I know you're the one. I have never been happier. Will you marry me?" She didn't even give me time to stand up. She leapt into my arms and we both cried and laughed. The entire restaurant cheered and applauded. It was beautiful! After I asked the question, the staff brought out the dozen long stem roses, that I had ordered and had delivered, and placed them on the table. She was blown away. The manager even brought champaine on the house for a congratulations toast.
I tipped $30 because it couldn't have been better. I have never felt better about anything in my life! It was definitly a night to remember!
