Dirty truck!!!

I have a 2002 F350 PSD with Husky molded mudflaps. They look good but the truck gets real dirty in a rain or on dirt roads. Snowy roads are worse and wet snowy dirt roads - well, you get the idea. I have been looking at fender flares but I am being told that they won't really help and that I will have to remove the mudflaps if I put flares on and I will be in worse shape then. There appears to be some logic to this. Most of the dirt seems to be coming up the sides with some very dirty areas just aft of the mudflaps - as if the flaps were catching most of the mess but some was coming out below them. The dealer I was talking to says that the rest of the dirt is probably coming of the treads when the front wheels are turned at all. Could be. If so, then flares won't help much as the stock tires I have are within the fenders - at least the tread is. The side walls may protrude slightly.
Anybody solve this problem?

Dirty truck!!!

I went out and bought one of those touchless car washes. It's kinda expensive, uses a lot of water and takes up most of my driveway but my truck is always clean. I, too, hate to get it wet but I have the dryer coming in tomorrow. Right now, I have a couple neighborhood kids that will dry it after I wash it...

I felt the same as you did before I got my car wash. I used to wrap my whole truck in Saran Wrap. I became hard to roll the windows down, so that's why I spent 200K on the car wash.

Try Kansas where your truck gets sand blasted in a wind storm coming down the highway...on the way home from the dealer

How bout Chicago, the place where you can wash your truck one day when its 50+ degrees and the next day there is 8 inches of snow on the ground! Oh and I also own a landscape company so baths are quite frequent for the truck.

2001 F-350 Lariat 4X4 Crew Cab Diesel Hypermax Chip, Pyro/Boost Gauge and 5 inch exhaust soon to come!

Dirty truck!!!

Come to Buffalo boys, my truck is Island Blue, after they spew tons of ice cube size salt on the roads so the old ladys can get their lottery tickets, my truck is flat white. And you know how "friendly" that stuff is to paint and metal parts!!!
Try washing it on the way home and by the time I get there its a rolling ice block.

I got the truck in October and am dying for warmth and sunshine.
I need to bolt all my new shinny parts on, then un-bolt them
next october so they don't look like my old rusty shed.

God I need to get back to SoCal!!!!
