Had this posted in the 95 truck forum and got nothing thought i would try it here
I am getting ready to move my stock air intake from under the hood near the latch to a lower position next to the radiator. it seems to me that with the hood closed it is restricted in the stock location. if I lower it to the grill it will get better air flow. I have already added a K&N filter and will soon do a high flow cat and 3" exhaust for better flow. Does anyone think this is a bad idea to move the intake down to the grille. I am just a rookie at engine mods so this is just guessing its a good idea.
Don't think it is worth it, and the lower the air filter is, the more water / mud / rain you'll pick up. not really worth it for the extra .3HP you'd obtain.
Thanks for the reply. I was looking at it today and it didnot look like a easy move anyway. had'nt considered the water, ect... what so you think about the K&N FIPK over just a K&N Filter.
I am just looking to add MPG. i have done the usual tune up stuff and am going to change the O2 and fuel filter next weekend at a Friends shop due to weather 23 degrees here.
Thanks for the responses though I was starting to feel all alone. LOL
