Door Ajar Light

1995 Ford Ranger 4x4. The door ajar sound and dash light stay on. Anyone know where the switch is located and how to replace. I purchased a manual and I am waiting for it, until it arrives ???

The striker switch is located on the door where it would hit the frame, right above the door sticker. On my '98 it's a little black piece that sticks out. You don't need to replace it. Just a quick shot of WD-40 (or other lubricant, you will hear lots of different suggestions) into that switch and open and close the door a few times. It should start working right away. This is probably the most commonly asked about issue on this forum and probably the easiest and cheapest to fix.

Door Ajar

Thanks, I just purchased the 1995 Ranger. One of the little items that was not evident.
