Question any problems?

I'm getting ready to trade my 99 EB for a 2000 Excursion and wanted to know if anybody knows of any problems with them, it has the 6.8l, 4x4. I really don't have time to read all the threads to see what everybody says about them, it is a deal I have to close by monday, what is the average MPG everybody is getting with the 6.8? my expedition got 13MPG and when I looked at this excursion the average on the computer was 12.3. It rides smooth but my major concern is the drivetrain, my 99 expedition had the torque converter replaced at 40,000 and the all wheel drive was kinda noisey, this excursion has 33,000 and is really quiet. Any siggestions would be appreciated, Thanks.....Brian

You'll read a lot of posts where folks have had some problems, but my 6.8L has been faultless (2001, bought @ 53K miles, now with 71K). I get 12.4 calculated (not computer ... it's typically 0.4 MPG too high) around town, and 15 highway ... 11.3 towing 5200#. A 2000 with only 33K miles? Go for it ... but compare price/options against some newer models.
