I just started my '78 for the first time since before winter. I am now leaking tranny fluid from, what seems to be, underneath the front of the headers. It is definitely not coming form the radiator or hoses. Oh please, oh please tell me I haven't blown a gasket. I can't bear the thought of taking that thing apart again. HHEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLPP!!
I would put this in the correct forum first.
You said you were leaking tranny fluid, then you said your radiator and hoses were good and you hoped you didn't have a blown headgasket. So are you leaking tranny fluid or radiator coolant?
If it is tranny fluid and you have a transmission cooler, check all your lines.
If it is rad coolant, check your frost plugs. They have a tendancy to rust out especially a vehicle that old. Could also be your water pump leaking. Which means you need to replace it. Good luck!
