Where to buy lift blocks and U - bolts
I went by the local dealer yesterday and was asking for the blocks and u-bolts. The guy looked at me like I was stupid or something. He needed the VIN from my truck so he could look up the correct blocks and bolts. The guy came back and said that all he could do is order the same blocks that I already have. I ased him whats up with that, he said according to my VIN thats all that was available...dork. I told him what I was trying to accomplish and he said that it would be tough to do from Ford. I am going to try another dealer today!!

That is typical of most parts department people anywhere. I have always had problems like that. I wanted a gasket set for a 428CJ I had in a '64 Fairlane. The guy asked me what car, so I told him. He said Ford didn't put a 428 in a Fairlane, so he couldn't help me. These guys are idiots. What you need to do is find out what vehicle came with the bigger blocks and use that vin, or go to one of the aftermarket places, like Explorer/ProComp, or try Summit Racing. They are starting to carry quite a bit of truck stuff at good prices.

I didn't want to say anything earlier until I had checked this out. I thought I remembered seeing rear springs in my new Summit catalog. Part #EXP-23311 is a pair of Explorer/ProComp rear springs good for a 6" lift for 00/01 Excursions and 99/01 SuperDuties. $179.95 a PAIR!!! Sounds like a pretty good deal. If you access the Explorer web site they may have additional springs with more or less lift. For $180.00 it doesn't make sense to install blocks.

You can buy 4 inch blocks from Ford. The part# is F81Z-5598-GA and FA. You also need longer U-bolts. These Blocks fit 99 and up super duty f-250, not sure if they will fit f-350 or not though I think they will. This will add 2" to the rear and if you get a add a leak spring from a spring shop it will add about 2.5" to the front all with out changing a thing.

I made my own blocks for FREE! Had some 3x5 rect. steel tubing laying around so I just went to work, even welded some bump stops on them in the stock location and painted them black. If you live next to a
