I just put a new front clip on my 86 ford off of a 82 was really carefull about wires and stuff when I was working now the blinkers and hazards are not working the way they should.
Rear turn signals not working at all
front side markers not flashing contant on
front turn signals working
????
replaced the flasher
all the fuses
If the tail lights are working and the front turn signals are working why not the back?
Also the turn signals don't work at all it the headlights are off????
your problem sound interesting for me, if I could I would help you, but I live in Europe....
The only tip I can give is to look for a wiring diagram.
With that diagram it is not a problem to find out why your system don't work properly....
How did you connect your wires from the clip to the cab? If you plugged the 82 plug into the fuse box on the firewall of the 86, they may be wired differently. I will dig out my manuals tonight and compare. It would seem odd if they are different but I don`t know without looking it up. Did you cut any wires and make splices or what did you do to hook it all up?
We didn't switch out any of the wiring we disconceted the lights and wire harness from the old clip layed them up on the engine and set the new clip in place and attached the wires
Did you reconnect the grounds for the front harness? I believe they are near the marker lights and attach to the fenders with ring terminals and self tapping screws.
Yes connected all the grounds sanded all of the holes and rings before hand to insure good ground
have good ground on both sides
have power to all the lights now but the sidew markers and rear tail lights / brake light not working
the tail light and back up lights are working and the front turn signals
