New rebate protection from FMC?

At the very top of this thread (or any thread), just below the "FTE" banner, is a row of blue boxes, and one of them is marked "settings." Click on that and then look for e-mail. It should be self-explanatory from there. You can e-mail me by clicking on the word "profile" that's in blue at the bottom of any of my posts. Then go to the "click here to e-mail 1956MarkII" box.

1956 MarkII:
I went into setting and did not see any place labeled email. I am not sure if I have that capability yet due to low post count. I just emailed you (through your profile) with my correct email address. I am very interested in the rebate protection program and appreciate your assistance in locating more information about it. Thanks.

I am new to this forum, so therefore I cannot email you. I have recently (about 10 days ago) ordered a new scab fx4, but I will not be able to take delivery until May (because of an upcoming deployment). So I'm trying to find out about the rebate protection program to ensure I at least get the current rebates when I return. Any info you could give me would be great.

Just have your dealer look up the Rebate/ Rate Order Protection Program. Once a VIN is assigned, he can go in and lock in any rebate on your vehicle that's at least 30 days in duration. So, the quickie, 1-week "bonus" rebates aren't eligible.

Well, I finally found out from Ford how this works. Rebate protection is only available to Ford's smallest dealers that maintain minimum inventories. Since they have to special-order a far greater percentage than the larger dealers, Ford put this program into place for them so they could be competitive.
So, now the next question is: how do we know which dealers have it and which ones don't? Unfortunately, I have no idea. There is no official list of these dealers, but I can tell you this: they are the smallest, "mom-and-pop" operations. You know, family-owned for 60 years, 10 cars in stock, the owner's also the service manager. Find one of those, and you've found a dealer that can lock in a rebate.
