fastback conversion

Hey guys, I have several questions. I recently bought a 67 fastback with a 6 cyl. 3 speed. The body is in great shape, and I plan to put a V8 in it. I just bought a 9" rear end that I will also add to mods.. I'm having a hard time deciding on what motor to put in it. What I am wanting to end up with is a EFI street car that has 400hp with no power adds. I need opinions on 302vs 351 along with using stock computer and harness vs aftermarket. I have leads on a 95 5.0, but what I have read I do not want to deal with the high maintenance issues associated with 347 stroker. I also want my car to have a/c with power steering. This is my first project, I am leery on starting the restoration since I do not know which path to go. I know this is long, thanks

My motor of choice has always been the 351 Windsor. I know you can build streetable ones with insane HP levels. Depending on the year, I believe that the 2bbl heads actually work better with a 4bbl carb/intake than the 4bbl heads. Or is that the 351 Cleveland I'm thinking of...?

Anyhow, make sure you have enough brakes on your car. The front discs from a mid-70s Granada are a bolt-on swap. If you are very fortunate, you may find a Lincoln Versailles--they came stock with the 351, IIRC, and have a 9-inch and 4 wheel discs. That would give you a perfect core for swap or build.
