This is to all of the new 2004 owners can you give me an idea of the differeces you have found with the 04, I bought an 03 last year as the dealer was clearing them off at low prices and decided not to wait until the new 04's came in. I haven't had a chance to drive an 04 yet and wondered if anybody could compare them. I really like my 03 just curious if the new changes are noticeable like horsepower, ride etc. Thanks.
I didn't have an 03. My last was an 01, which as to ride and so on would be quite similar. The 04, as far as handling, ride comfort, and noise level has it all over the 01. With handling, I have found that when cornering, that any corner I took before (I do like to push it a bit on corners) at 60mph, with the 04 I can take at least 10 mph faster. At least10 mph. Quietness, I seldom have to adjust the volume on the radio, where I was doing this constantly with the 01.
It also just feels much more stable.
As to power, I would say that after it is broken in, it seems to have at least the same feel as my 01. Even with more HP I don't think it feels any better on pure take off power. As I have not towed anything yet, I can not give you an answer on towing power.
Overall, I would say that this truck is the best Ford I have ever owned, by far, and this is number 8 for me.
Thanks for the information Kingfish, now I'm going to have to make it a point to test drive one after what you have said, I definately do find the 03 to have quite a bit of road noise but its a truck so I don't mind and maybe next year once they have all the bugs worked out, if there are any i'll look at upgrading but for now I'm more than happy with the 03.:
