I got a 93 F-150, power windows/locks. The driver’s door will no longer open from the inside…the inside handle pulls out normally but nothing happens. It still opens from the outside but it doesn’t feel right…feels like it slightly binds before opening up. At the same time the power lock no longer works…it wants to, but just can’t cycle completely. No, I haven’t taken the panels off yet and looked inside, just wondered if anybody else has experienced this and what the problem may be. I’d like to be a little more knowledgeable before I go ripping things apart. Thanks.

Give the latch area a good wd-40 soaking and point the spray both up and down so it gets back in behind the latch. If it still doens't work you will have to go into the door. Take off the inside panel then see if everthing is intact on the door handle. look for a rod that has come loose or broke or the bushing are wore out.
Thanks wtroger. I tend to think you're right about a rod, linkage or something. My wife was the last one to drive it and I haven't had a chance to ask her if anything unusual happened when she opened the door last. It kind of acts like a piece of the linkage is missining/broke for the inside handle, but the lock was working perfectly till the exact same time. Guess they're related somehow. I hate working inside doors...just not enough room for my meat-hooks. Thanks again. Still open to hearing about anybody elses experiences of this nature.
Just to finish out this thread for future reference, I got a chance today to tear into my “door won’t open from the inside” problem. Took the interior panel off and the problem was oh-so apparent. There is a cable, much like motorcycle clutch/brake cable, running from the inside handle to the latch mechanism. The cable had broken off from the swag as it attaches to the handle mechanism. The cable and sleeve came off the handle mechanism easy enough, but in order to get it off the latch mechanism I had to take the latch mechanism loose from the door…3 screws and 1 bolt. I didn’t have to take the mechanism out, just needed to bring it back towards the panel opening so I could get a set of pliers on it. Of course Advance Auto and Auto Zone doesn’t carry a replacement cable like this, so I guess I’ll be making a trip to Ford Parts Department tomorrow (today is Sunday). The only difficult part of the replacement operation may be fishing the “Z” end of the latch cable in through it’s hole…only because there’s not a lot of room to work and once you get the sleeve seated, there’s not a lot of slack in the cable. Still, I think this is something that the do-it-yourselfer can easily tackle. Tools required were Phillips screwdriver, 7/16 socket, and 6” needle nose. Later.
