In my 76 F150 on the driver side inner fenderwell is a box with two connecters. If it is not hooked up there isn't any spark. So I am assuming it is part of the evectronic ignition. Also there is a box on the front passenger side next to the rad. below the horn what does it do. What 's the condenser.for.Will I need these with the MSD 6AL and Billet Dist.?
The box on dr. fender is the DURASPARK ignition box. Yes it needs it to run. The box receives the signal from the dist. and tells the coil to fire.
The other box next to radiator...sounds like voltage regulator. It turns the alternator on and off. The condensor(hanging onto side of regulator) is for noise suppression.
As for MSD, you will not need the Duraspark box anymore. Once you install the billet dist and 6AL, they plug together. All that will be needed is a switched 12V source to turn it on/off.
The voltage regulator will not be affected by this upgrade. Two completely different functions on the truck.
