Can tell me going by the brake/turnsignal wiring diagram where they splice is coming from the brake light switch wire 511/LG that goes to the multifunction switch and to the PCM. Where is the PCM located. One last question to remove the multifuction I have to remove the steering wheel. Does anyone have info on how to remove it? Hopefully step by step.
Thanks again guys...I owe everyone a beer
"1993 f-250 no turn signal/brake lights."
I lost the turn signals and brake lights. I checked all fuses and brake light switch under the dash. Also find that the turn signal indicator light on the dash does not light. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this year/make truck? 1993 F-250 4X4 Auto/overdrive.
If it is like my 88, there are to screws on the underside of the steering wheel. Remove those and the horn cover will come off. Next there is a nut with with a locking star. Count the threads that are visible before removing so yucan put it back in the same place. Also make sure your steering wheel is straight and your tires are straight before removing. Otherwise the steering wheel will be out of place in the normal straight position. Bend the star washer tab up and turn the nut off. The steering wheel should come off a little hard beca;use the nut pulls it down it seems like a tappered bushing type fit. Hope this helps. Good luck, Be sure if you take the multi function switch loose that you look very careful at its possition before removing. It slides up and down the colum in screw slots when screws are loosened. It must be put back in the same place for the gear selector to switch to the correct position for contact closure on the multi-function switch. Have fun.
Do you have an airbag on the '93 F250? If you do you will have to find out how to keep it from going off in your face. Many people don't like to mess with pulling the steering wheel on a vehicle with an air bag.
I just removed my switch yesterday for a problem with the dims/high beams. There is no airbag on it and I didn't need to remove the steering wheel. All i did was remove the cover around the column, which has four screws, and the two torx screws that hold the switch on, unplug it, and thats really all there was to it.

Reason: spelling
also when you take off your wheel, regardless of where the wheels are, no worries, the shaft is indexed, so is the wheel there is a flat spot, so youll get it on there straight without a problem, and you also may need to use steering wheel puller to remove it, but you an borow one of those from autozone if you dont have on e or cant get one.
ATC_250SX is correct about the indexing. There is a flat inside the steering wheel hub and a flat on the steering column. The only problem I had, if you have the steering wheel lock still functioning, was making sure the collar for the lock was in the right place when I put it back together. The collar is on the steering column. I think I rotated the collar counterclockwise about the steering shaft until the pin was lined up with the fourth spline on the shaft from the flat. That let it marry up to the steering wheel properly and the wheel lock work.
