In an effort to keep things positive around here, I am going to post something good about my truck every week. Kinda like the President's Weekly Radio Address but not on the radio and not by the President and not anything to do with current events but still kinda like it ...
Although it can be said that it is a good thing when we help one another, the reasoning behind this is that I have read posts from new users that have in turn read things here and it has actually swayed them to consider the other side because they think there are a lot of problems with our trucks.
I have replied to them stating that these message boards are mainly used to help others diagnose a repair or gain info to upgrade their trucks. But I thought that every once in a while we should just say something good about 'em and not talk about any mechanical challenges we may be experiencing.
That's a good idea, Monsta. I too will try to post a good thing whenever I recall.
My good thing today is my '89 F-250 with C6 and 4.10 gears just crossed almost 1000 miles and 3 mountain ranges each way between here and Montana at 75 MPH (3500 RPM) and never saw a lack of power and I never saw my temp get past the M in NORMAL. What a truck. All the other off-brand vehicles we've ever owned needed a break after only 300-400 miles or partway up a pass.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-Mar-02 AT 09:26 PM (EST)]I definately have much more good to say about my new SD than bad.
It seems that we are just striving for near perfection. If something is performing as intended I feel we just don't comment much or ask for advice.I compare it to horsepower. These trucks have a very generous amount of it.However,we always seem to want more.
If people go to the competitors trucks then I guess it's their loss.
My 95 has a few shortcomings compared to my 02,but you won't see me pawning it off for one of the competitors newer trucks. As far as I'm concerned they don't have "it".
No problems here! I love my truck! As a matter of fact my SO has started to become a little jealous of her. She noticed that the toenail polish I so lovingly painted on her cute little tootsies (leave it alone guys- you really don't want to know:-X23 ) matched my truck and got a little miffed.
I told her to be glad I wasn't using Ford Dark Toreador Red touch-up paint instead

Oh no. Come on here talkin' about paiting toenails... we expect details. What cool mods for your truck did you get out of that deal?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Mar-02 AT 02:16 PM (EST)]I think I'd rather here about someone's problems than about abendx's pathetic love life and painting toenails. (Hey abendx, if you're bragging about getting laid, that usually means that you're not). That's my .02.
>dude... i admit it... i will do a lot of things to get
>some... but painting toe nails???? ouch!!!
It's not about "gettin' some" its about taking care of your lady. Wait till you get a little older and suffer through a bad wife/marriage/divorce:-X23 , and then find the perfect gal- then you'll understand.;-)
Christ- I sound like OPRAH
