Hi,
I'm looking at getting a 1978 Bronco with a 351 Modified in it. The truck itself has 212,000 km on it (about 165,000 miles) and I've heard that this particular engine is known for oiling problems. If so, what should I look for besides low oil pressure and looking for shavings in the pan. Would it affect temperature at all or any other obviuos signs to turn me away from this buy?
I have read that there is only an oiling issue when modifying for some high performance uses. There was something involving external oil lines to somewhere on block. I think it relates more to the Cleveland motors which your motor shares some similarities. If the engine runs well and has good pressure then it should be ok.
