2002 Front Axle

A few months ago I read in one of the 4whl.drive mags.that the 02 model 250 and 350 SRW 4x4 Super Dutys are now using the Dana 60 instead of the 50.Does anyone know for sure?

I heard that some of the early 2002 models built it Mexico still have the D50. But the new spec is D60.

Hey guys
I have a new 2002 V10 Excursion. It should have the new D60 right?
It appears to be the same axle that's on the back of my 1998 Dodge 2500:-staun small blk V8 4X4

It's my understanding that the excursions are keeping the Dana 50's. You can't tell by looking at them from the outside because they look exactly the same and as I recall are the same. However, the dana 60 should have a 248 stamped on it. I don't remember what is stamped on the dana 50.
