I need to purchase new tires for my 1994 F150 4 x 4 extended cab. What is the largest tire that I can put on my truck without having any issues with the tires rubbing on the supension, etc? Currently I have 31x10.50R15's. I would just like to "fill up" the wheel wells a little more. Also, if anybody has just purchased some tires recently that they are really happy with I would like to know what brand of tires they are. I drive mostly city and highway miles but get in some mud occasionly out on country roads. Thanks.
dont know how long this will stay here but i have had good luck with BFGs all terrains and the largest u can fit is a 32" tire. u might be able to squeeze 33s but they'll rub. might have to trim the front valance a little for the 32"s...
32s is as big as I would go. As far as a good all-around tire I would go with the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KOs They are quiet on the road and the do well off-road. Plus Wal-Mart has a 50000 mile warrenty on them
I put 32 11.50 15's on my 92 f-150 4x4 and had to back that turn stops out on the front knuckles to keep tham from rubbing on a tight turn. It was worth it. I put 80000 on a set of bf goodrick All-Terrain TA KO's and sold them with 40 % tread for 300 bucks. Its the only tire I'll but now. Check the tire rack
(www.tirerack.com) for pricing I recently lifted mine 6" and put a set of these tires on size 35 12.50 15 and payed $616.
I have 33 12 .50 swamper TSL radials on mine, no lift or mods, they seem to be fine, rub a little more than my 32's did on tight turns....but nothing to be concerned about....the only rubbing is on the inside up against the radius arms. The tires themselves...I think, are just bitchin!!!! If you can get past the road noise.....(so I put in a flex fan, now I dont hear the tires....just the fan!!!!!)
