I tried to get the trans in my 86 aerostar flushed yesterday and the tech couldnt doit saying that he had never seen the pressure so low on aerostars. the fluid was trickling out of the drain. and it would have literally takin at least two hours to finish. the tech said rangers do this, and aerostars dont. the trans works fine.I was just doin some maintenance. any one know about this?
Haven't done a flush myself, but this sounds fishy to me. How was the mech. doing the flush? Was this a pressure flush of some kind?
I'd recommend pulling the pan to see what is blocking the drain hole. You'll need to do this to replace the filter anyway and it sounds like it's time to replace that filter.
