Question 4 wheel drive

I have a 1999 ford ranger i have noticed that when i am in 4 wheel drive if i make a left turn it seems to be dragging a little I dont know if i need to add fluid in the 4 wheel or what please help
I dont have a lot of money to take it to a shop when not in 4 wheel its fine....

Can you be a little more specific on what you mean by "dragging"?

Do you mean that the Steering wheel is pulling away somewhat when you make a left turn....you know like it jerks right just slightly! If thats the case its because the rear wheels are moving but they don't turn like the front wheels because the rears are stationary of course!

4x4

That is the way a 4x4 works in the front end if you have this vehicle in 4x4 riding on dry surface, if you were on mud, grass, snow, or something of this nature, something that slips, you would not feel this, but what you feel is normal, from what I understand of your post.
