Hey, I've noticed that the official brochure you get from Ford (via mail) and in the dealer's showrooms FOR THE '04 f-150, it says on the Lariat, the Stereo with a single CD AND a cassette player is standard. However, if you build one online or look at my order I placed, it says only the single CD is standard, no cassette. What gives? Misprint in the brochure?
No, it's the dreaded "D" word at work again.......
DECONTENTING!
When the '04 was introduced, the Lariat did come standard with the AM/FM/CD/Cassette. Then, a few months later, Ford decided that the AM/FM/CD was good enough as standard equipment. So, they substituted the cheaper radio, but they did NOT lower the price. Thank you, Ford.... You must have one of the original brochures. In fact, they ran into a problem with the printer right after they made a bunch of changes through all the product lines, and we've been without brochures since Thanksgiving. It seems to me that, whatever pennies Ford saved by eliminating a glove box light were then spent to change all the brochures, to tell you that you no longer get a light in the glove box. Is it me, or does all this make the marketing folks at Ford look like a bunch of incompetent morons?!
I have 3 of the same brochure for the F-150. One was sent by Ford, one was picked up by me at a dealer (within the last 2 months) and another was mailed to me by a dealer within the last 2 months. Thanks for clearing that up anyway I was just wondering about that. Figured that's what happened.
