Intake Manifold Torque Specs
Can anyone tell me if the torque specs for an aluminum intake manifold are different than for a cast iron manifold, and if they are, what are they? Thanks.

I borrowed a Chilton's FE repair maunal. It listed the intake torque spec as: 45ft/lbs.
The instructions with the Ebrock 390 performer intake stated: torque intake bolts to 25ft/lbs. I torqued mine to 30ft/lbs.
See what the general consensus is and go with that.

Thanks. I was able to dig out my service manual (64 Gal) when I got home from work tonight and found the torque specs listed:
352/390 = 32 to 35 ft-lbs (this would be cast iron)
427 = 25 to 28 ft-lbs (this would be aluminum)
That Chilton's spec seems a little high based on what my 1964 Galaxie service manual says.

My Edelbrock Performer RPM instructions said to just torque them all to 28 I believe.
