Just received my 2002 f250 XLT SD/CC 4x4, V10/Auto, 3.73LS ..and a partridge in a pear tree!) Anyway, I have heard so many stories on the size of tires that will or will NOT fit with or with out a lift. I just sold my '99 F150 4x4 that someone once told me, "305/75/16's would never fit without a lift and would cause all kinds of shifting problems along with horrible power (3.55's)." Well 90k miles later with those tires installed, and down many different roads with or w/o my boat or trailer, the truck performed flawlessly! So here I am with my NEW truck. And I am again wondering what are the biggest tires I can put on this truck w/out a lift. I have heard guys talk about the leveling kit. Honestly, my truck sits pretty level. Is this something they corrected for 2002? Being that it only has 200 miles on it, will it settle, thus creating a slope? I also have a question regarding these Infinity Kappa speakers. Are they direct replacements for the stock speakers and also do they really make a difference in auto sound quality. My ears are use to listening to Alesis Monitor I studio speakers. If anyone knows this type of sound, what car speaker can I buy that will come close? Thank for all your help in advance! This is a great site. I even printed some of these files and took them to the Ford dealer on an engine noise I was having on a work truck. After reading 27 similar complaints, they decided to give me a new engine, no questions asked!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Mar-02 AT 10:40 PM (EST)]Well, I dont know about the 2002, but My 2001 sd regular cab 5.4 has the snow plow package, with I believe the x springs, about as level as your going to get with a factory spring.
I just put 35x12.50x16.5 BF's on it and they rub on the inners when turning. I suppose you could adjust the inner fender to make do, but I wouldn't suggest it. Needless to say the 6" is going in this weekend. Not a bad thing mind you
Are you talking about the Infinity Kappa 572.3cf? My uncle has them in his SportTrack and they sound great! He's running them off an external amp, don't know how much power he's feeding them. I've got a set on order and should be here by the end of the week, so I'll post up how they sound with the stock hu.
