Filler Thickness

I'm still hammering on the bed of my 65 F250 and I'm wondering how close I should get before applying the bondo. Using an 18" steel ruler and a shim to measure the low spots I'm way under an 1/8th" to being straight. Couple spots where the bondo will still be over .070 tho.

Close enough?

I am no expert but I have always heard that anything less than 1/8" is very much acceptable for body work.

Sure that's plenty close enough. I've gone over an eighth of an inch before using the fiberglas reinforced fillers and saw it last indefinitely.
