460 Mufflers

Hi all! New to the forum and just bought a '77 F-350 with the 460 engine. It has an Edelbrock Streetmaster intake with a Holley 4BBL and headers with glass packs. I want to tone it down some and would like information on which flowmaster to use or other manufacturer recommendations. Thanks in advance for any responses. By the way, I'm considering putting on an Edelbrock carb also as the Holley is in pretty bad shape.

Well, the quietest Flowmaster series is their '70' series if memory serves. I ran two of them on an old 76 F250 with a 390, and I thought they sounded good. What cfm is youre current carb? I ran an Edelbrock 650 (I think it was 650, its been a few years) with the electric choke. It was a great carb. It also made starting in the winter a breeze.

I think it's a 600CFM. I would probably change to the 750 CFM though.

I have two Flowmaster 50 seres delta flows and they are pretty quiet when not on the gas hard, but have a nice rumble when on the gas. The 70's are quiter but still sound good.
