ok boys.... a bunch of you have asked for new pics of my 11" lift.

so.... i finally got off of my *** at starbucks and went and took some pics... sorry, no pics were allowed of the two little girls i had washing the truck for me.

so.... look in my gallery under "second round" for the new pics... i have some pics of the truck, one of the fpik, and one of the exhaust...

i will try and get some sound clips of the exhaust a little later today, but the wind is kicking up and it may not be possible.

lol.... bigger tires may come when these wear out... then the decision is:

1- goto 40's
2- use cutouts and goto 42's
3- use cutouts and goto 44's
4- put 15" springs on and goto 44's

hummm.... so many choices!!!

getting in has become a bit more difficult... but hey, i am young and it does eliminate the few girls that thought they could get in without assistance!

spare is used as a spare silly.... yes, it is undersized and would cause problems.... but to get me someplace safe to get the real replacement.... it will have to do since a 38 and bigger tire would never fit in the stock location and i am not willing to give up my bed for a spare tire.

Your Truck is Looking Great!

I see you to are suffering from that disease 'Liftus Maximus'
I thought I was cured 10 years ago... but I've had a relapse!
After putting on the new PJ's I have no choice but to go another 3".
I had to have my garage reframed after the suspension lift!
The body lift is now done. I had to remove the carrier from the roof to fit it in the garage.
Guess that stuff happens when you suffer from 'Liftus Maximus'!
Well.. Now I'll have to take new pics and update my gallery next week.

abendx,

That truck does NOT suck...

If ya don't mind me asking, what kind of ca$h was involved in that?
Just the lift...The other mods are great, but one thing at a time for me.
A private response would be fine, or if it's none of my business, that's fine too.

BigD...

as best as i can remember.....

885.00 - 8" fabtech
325.00 - 5" fabtech rear springs
80.00 - 4" rear blocks and ubolts
240.00 - 3" body lift
250.00 - rancho rs9000 shocks

1300.00 - install for the suspension
500.00 - install for the body lift
150.00 - front drive shaft lengthening

1200.00 - tires (approx)
1200.00 - wheels (approx)
300.00 - mount and balance of tires and wheels

also... some other things are needed....

60.00 - lift lips (to cover gaps from body lift)
600.00 - gear change (necessary with larger tires)
600.00 - install of gears

i had a lot of price matching and brow beating to get the prices that i did.... so, if you just go in and get the shops normal prices... look at spending an extra grand or so on the package.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
mrrottndog,
dude... it ain't over.... those 15" national springs are looking mighty good to me.... then there is the x-over steering and all the other goodies.... geez, am i glad i have no wife! lol.
your X looks great.... monsta.... come on dude... look at his pics and start writing checks!
looking forward to your updated pics!!
I'm waitin' for him to get tired of it and move to new project. If it gets any higher though, the family won't be able to go with me...There are some days.......
Your truck looks great! I mean GREAT!!
Oh, how I'd love to let the "liftus maximus" disease run it's course in my viens. Probably one of the only diseases out there that you can enjoy .
However, I got inoculated (married ) before the disease could manifest itself...
Abenex,
Whats up bro? Truck looks alot better with the extra lift. Hey, what do you think of that chip you have? Would you recommend it?
I'm getting some new 39.5 swampers and I'll get you some pics when they get put on (you'll see what those look like with an 11in lift). I'm ordering them this week so I'll keep you posted.
Looks great! But I'd still like to see some pics of the girls.
I can't tell for sure from the pics, have you done something to the area around the tow hooks?
yes... that is the bracket to lift up the bumper......
it should have been painted, but along with all the other screw ups the 4x4 shop did when they put on the body lift... i got no paint on there......
i will fix that after the other shop fixes all the screw ups of the first shop....
basically what happened was the kit was missing an instruction.... the shop should have been able to work past that (and they did say they have done these before), but they couldn't.
i called the manf of the body lift and it looks like they will come to bat for me and have another shop fix the problems due to the missing instruction at their cost..... but when i ran by the other shop this weekend... they started pointing out problems with the initial installation..... so i will have them fix that..... then i will need to go to court to recoup the dollars spent to fix the initial installation foul up......
now, that isn't really me.... but get this.... the first shop tells me when i bring the truck back.... oh, sorry, we will have to charge you another 200 bucks to fix the front bumper (even tho the manf had told them they would pay for it... so they wanted to get paid twice)... and they told me it would be three weeks because they had other customers..... now that is messed up.... they do a bad job then want to make me pay to fix and wait for it....
and... the best part is.... i had four or so ppl asking me about a good shop in the area..... i had asked some questions from the owner of the shop and he knew about this..... how stupid could someone be to screw with me (knowing i have big bucks on the line for him)?
so.... this has been another nightmare... but it is really cool to know that the manf of the body lift is going to stand behind their stuff!
Brad,
Sorry about the spelling of your name above (abenex) :-X23 . I was typing late last night and I guess my fingers didn't type what my brain was thinking. Anyway, the chip that you are getting, what are the things its going to do (is it custom, etc.) Thanks.
no problem Chap... (lol... opps, i meant Chad).
the diablo chip will recal my speedo and odo (compensate for larger tires/gear change). firm up the shift points (make the distance between shifts longer and more pronounced), and give me more hp/torque (i think by richening the fuel mixture).
