there is a fuse under the hood that i pulled. i dont remember which one right off hand it was, but if you look in your owners manual it will tell you which on it is. just look at the page with the fuse box on it and look for the one that that says DRL or daytime running lights, i dont remember.
i'm sure there are alot of other ways to do it, but i just did this b/c its the easiest. (maybe 5 minutes from the time i opened the
the only reason i took it out was because coming onto an AirForce base at night the "cops" always try and give me a hard time about not turning off my head lights like their little sign says to do....
On my 97 if i pulled the fuse it knocked out the horn and flas to pass head lights.. i ended up disconnecting the module behind the bumper.. but this was back in 97.. your truck proboly has a sesor of some sort
Remove the daytime 80% resistor circit jumper behind the left hand headlamp.this will allow the headlamps to power up only when the switch is turned on.
NOTE:Found this out wile installing daytime running lamps that my truck was not equipped with from the factory 2004 f350 SD after to many trips to the parts counter at ford.
I am on a first name basis with the parts manager although i dont know what name he calls me before i make it into the counter aria seen threw the glass partision.
the resistor is encased in a metal perforated cage with a white ceramic inner body attached to the raderator rear fraim behind the LH headlamp in my super duty.
From: I'm lost somewhere in NJ -- can someone please find me?!?!?!?
That's because yours is not a Canadian truck! Don't complain -- I hate DRL.
I helped a friend pick up a BMW recently. I was involved in every part of the purchase (knew the dealer, got him a discount, blah blah blah). Unfortunately, the dealership forgot to ask if he wanted the DRL on or off while we were there, so he called him later. My friend said "turn it on!" without consulting with me. I make fun of him and his "metrosexual" car constantly. "You only made one decision on this car, and made it gay by doing so." You get the picture.
Don't mean to offend anyone who likes DRL -- that's your right. Don't bother flaming me, I don't care.
