Need help understanding the overhead console
Yes, I need help, again!
How does the overhead console measure mileage? Over a certain number of miles or instantaneously/constantly? Over a whole tankful? Since birth?
Should I be resetting the mileage by holding until it says AVG like the manual says, or until the whole screen is covered in digits?
When I hold the two buttons as per the manual to reset, the mileage will increase dramatically (almost double); then if I reset again, it will again double. After turning off the ignition and restarting, it will go back down the the original figure. Its great getting 50 mpg, but somehow I don't think that its accurate! What the hell?
How do I get actual/accurate mileage from this thing?

It will avg. from birth or since the last time you reset it. It is not a real time MPG. To reset just press both buttons momentarily and release and it will start to avg. Mpg until reset again.
