Stalling then not starting 2.9
Hi all, I have an 88 Ranger with a 2.9L in it.. I've been having a problem with the engine stalling and then refusing to start. I replaced the spark plugs with a fresh set and it keeps fouling them. When the engine is running it smells like it's running VERY rich. I cleaned all of the plugs, and reinstalled them and it started up and ran fine for about 20 minutes, then it just died and wouldn't start again..When I pulled the plugs out again they all smelled like gasoline. I have replaced the wires, cap, rotor, ign. coil, O2 sensor and none have corrected this problem. It's like a ton of fuel is being dumped into the engine and it floods itself and dies. I tried starting it again earlier today and it wouldn't start, smell of raw gasoline was coming out of the exhaust.. I pulled only 1 spark plug, and cleaned it, stuck it back in and it fired right up and ran fine.. then died about 15-20 minutes later.. Is there anything else that I can check that could be causing this problem?

It's probably not the ignition module. Try putting a vacuum guage on the engine to see if there is a leak. That will cause many problems. Usually the module will work or not work. Some parts stores can check them, and I would do that before replacing it. They are not cheap.
