Has anyone tried to use an A/C condensor from a small car as a transmission cooler? Should hold up just fine to the pressure, I'd think it'd flow just fine. Easy to put a fan on. They have mounting brackets. Could be easily put under the bed with a fan.
A tube is a tube and fins are fins. That all any of them are tubes and fins. As an AC condenser it's under high pressure with a hot gas. Transmission fluid should not hurt it. I would look at the tube Dia. for flow reasons.
When I was a kid, my dad used a frige condesor to make a tranny cooler. This was the largest cooler I have ever seen. Big block Ford with a C6, never had a cooling problem.
I was just wondering about something since you all are talking about coolers for trannys. I have the ac cooler but what do you do with the lines on the radiator do I just cap them off after I move my transmission line to the cooler or do I have to do anything with the two outlets at the bottom of the radiator thanks just wanted to ask did not mean to interupt your thread.
