OK guys, what could be syptomatic of a cracked pistson on a normally aspirated 6.9? I getting really afraid I need to know.
I'm asking before I tear into it because it is a daily driver and if it is more than a rocker bridge, injector, or even a lifter I 've got a REAL problem in more ways than one. I'm listening, thanks

maybe a skip or miss all the time and fuel in base from not being burned.any smoke out the tailpipe from unburned fuel,that is if the injector is still working.

Well the motor is on the way, they are paying for the R&R as well as the diagnostics. I am just mad about the wasted shoe leather in the mean time. I am praying we do not get any snow till it is fixed.
From what I was told today, I think someone may be looking for a job at McDonald's after doing my engine rebuild. But then that may just be all smoke and mirrors.

Latest update, they have no 7.3 IDI turbo motors in stock.
But they are building mine as we type.
They did not say so, but between the lines I read that they checked a couple of motors and found the same problems.
I have been assured that I will not have the same problems with the new motor.
