Replacement shocks

I am getting ready to order some shocks for the front & rear of my 2001 F350 crew cab 4x4 powerstroke.

Does Bilstein make a good replacement shock,If so does anyone know the part #'s & price or where you can get them from?

I replaced the stock shocks when I lifted the truck. Put on Rough Countrys best shock. They S***ed. They all were leaking in less then a year. I replaced them with Edelbrock IAS's I love them, very good ride.

JTATMAN,

Bilsteins make a great shock. IMHO go to www.bilstein.com they have all the specs, model numbers for your application and links to their dealers.

You can try shox.com, they are a Bilstein distributor and you get all four with shipping for ~$300. Only bitch I had was it took them two months to deliver the fronts, some BS about Bilstein being out of stock for the extended length 5100's. Once you get the numbers, AutoZone was real competitive price wise - I'd recommend them IMHO.

I vote Bilstein too. Great ride. Mount inverted, which threw off my installer. Supposed too. Lifetime warranty, I believe.

I'm pretty sure it's BE5-2818-HO for the fronts and BE5-2819-HO for the rears on a stock truck.........I'd double check when you order them though.

Price for stock replacements is around $65.00 per shock.......shocks for lifted apps that are zinc coated are around $75.00 per shock.

Hope this helps.

If you have a leveling kit, go with the 5100 Bilstein's (nickel plated I think - they look and ride awesome). Otherwise stick with the yellow Bilsteins. I ordered mine through Rickson's in MD. Very good people to deal with!

What are ART rotors?

The 5100s for 0-2" are the yellow body blue boots, from 3"+ lifts the 5100s are zinc plated. The higher up shocks like the 7100s are the nickel plated.

Hope this helps.

if you want a shock that seems to stand up i found the monroe magnums pretty good.i've installed several on overloaded f-350 4x4's and they seem to be the only ones that last.

Bilstein 5100 = boots down. When you go to mount the rears, you'll find the tapered hole opposite of what you normally think would be the 'top' of the shock.

$52 each - was that for the silver 5100's or the standard yellow shocks? Good price either way, happy wheeling.
