Am I correct in thinking, you believe that 9/11 was a one time shot? That the Jihad they have proclaimed was all sumed up on 9/11? That the promises to continue the attacks and the repeated call to arms via tape recordings are just a bunch a fooy?

The world, at least for America is a very different place than it was before 9/11. I don't believe any of the things above. I don't believe we could survive as we were before 9/11.
No, my stance is that the exact OPPOSITE is true. I believe there will be another 9/11, and I believe there's nothing we can do about it.

We can proclaim any color of the rainbow we want and put an officer next to every toilet in the nation, but IMHO, it won't prevent the next 9/11 type attack. So, we can live in fear and continue to cripple ourselves, or we can boldly go about our business.

I don't ever see daily attacks like those in Israel and Iraq coming to the US or Canada, regardless if we went back to "green" or whatever we were at pre 9/11. The hate may have intensified, but it's always been there and we always dealt with it in the past.

Perhaps I'm naive, but that's my take on it.

Until the root of the problem is eliminated, the problem won't go away. And that's not just Bin Laden. Our foreign policy invites terrorism. When you provide unlimted support for Israel, invade and occupy an Islamic nation with the intent of instilling democracy at the point of a gun and use fear of our military to 'negotiate' with the rest of the Mid-East, not all will be happy campers.
I agree with you on all the above points.

We seem to disagree on defending of our own borders.

They're not defendable against terrorism. Even if we fielded an army the size of the one used for WWII that would contain only the land entry points. Two oceans, a big gulf and a lot of air space would remain very porous. We're fooling ourselves. The only solution is to eliminate terrorism and that's a dream with our foreign policy.

Well I won't answer your first questions but I will say this....

3k people dead and hundreds of billions later.....all we have are:

1.Dept of Homeland security
2.this color code warning
3.citizens working the airport security instead of legal aliens
4.lots of non-guilty parties going to jail
5.a war to remove non existent WMDs
6.national guard at bridges etc.

are we safer? Nope....a student managed to sneak box cutters aboard an airliner a few months back and he was taken in for questioning....

I hope he didn't get introuble for proving them inept!!!

Mexican TV had a special on the tunnels that lead under the intl wall the us has in place now....what is to stop terrorists from using these to sneak WMDs into the US?

The answers is easy......they can come in through Canada.....seems to be their fav route into the US.

What do I think of the system they devised? Moronic design by morons.
what do you expect?

It is esigned to quell the American people...to fool them into thinking that their govt is hard at work...protecting them...
