Carburetor problem?
I have the carter yf carb, with electric choke. When I first got the truck, I rebuilt the carb and it has run great ever since. The other day, it started running rough, and it mainly happens when under load or when accelerating. I took the carb off yesterday, pulled it apart, and checked for any obvious problems - nothing looked bad. The only thing I did notice was that the accelerator pump seemed to stick open. So I put it back together, put it on, and started it - first it backfired through the carb and then when I finally started it, it ran even rougher.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'm thinking that i'll put a rebuild kit on it and see if that helps.
I was really hoping to fix it so I could go 'wheeling in the snow yesterday. My 2wd chebby just doesn't cut it.
