Question for 1956MarkII :)

Hey...this was mentioned in another thread and I just wanted to show you this to make sure I'm seeing what I should be seeing. I'm talking about order types, in particular "sold retail" as opposed to "stock" or dealer inventory. I see something on my order printout that shows "retail" but it also shows "DLR INV". Is this really a reatil sold order that Ford would know is SOLD already?...or would this appear to Ford as a dealer stock/inventory order? I only wonder about it because I'd assume that retail orders that are already sold would be processed faster than a dealer inventory order, but I don't know...maybe you do. Here's a copy of my order:

I've edited out the dealer number, order number and my name (which DOES appear in the "cust/fleet name" field...so it DOES have my name on it).

Let me know what you think. Will this appear to Ford as a sold/retail order? I hope so. Let me know if you see anything odd with this. I appreciate it!

You're fine. RETAIL and DLR INV are just the headers for the price columns, showing retail prices (the ones that appear on the window sticker) and dealer invoice amounts. Note that your order type is "X" for X-Plan. That's as good as a sold order. Also, like you said, your name also appears, which tells me it's a sold order. Stock orders would have no name, and stock (dealer inventory) units are ALWAYS an order type "2." As long as the order type is not a 2, then it's a sold order. There are lots of sold order types, by the way: sold retail, fleet, A/D/X/Z-plan, lease renewal, etc...

On a side note: isn't this all just freakin' amazing? You've found a website that can answer just about any question about Ford Trucks. Just to make sure, you've scanned your order confirmation so I can check it out for you, and I could be halfway around the world. Now, how would we have done ANY of this before the Internet? I guess I'm just OLD enough to be absolutely amazed by it all. I guess it doesn't take much to amuse me!

Thanks for your help Yes, it is amazing. I remember back in 1995 when my old company set up at a trade show, we had our web site on a computer there showing people we were on the web. I thought to myself, "that's stupid...who would want to go see that?" My, how things have changed. I couldn't live without the internet and email now! It's extremely helpful. Thanks again.
